Who doesn’t love a movie that glorifies food? ‘Big Night’, ‘Chocolat’, ‘Eat Pray Love’, ‘The Hundred Foot Journey’; all have a place on our “foodie” viewing list. But our favourite is ‘Chef’. Jon Favreau wrote and directed this 2014 film that tells the story of a high-end LA chef who loses his job, and rediscovers his love of cooking with a food truck. It’s a lovely little film that captures the excitement of food, and the joy of doing something small and unique. It speaks to what we are trying to do here at Dancing Swallows.
To celebrate the International Cool Climate Chardonnay Celebration (i4C) weekend we will be hosting two seating’s of a special ‘Chardonnay and Chef’ Outdoor Dining Experience, with a menu inspired by the movie ‘Chef’. We’re talking small plates of Tostones, Cubanos, Arroz Con Pollo, Texas Smoked Beef Brisket, and more, all served in our outdoor tasting area with some exceptional Chardonnays (and one Cab Franc).
P.S. ‘Chef’ is currently showing on Netflix Canada. If you haven’t seen it, check it out. If you have seen it, it’s worth a rewatch. Just have a good dinner lined up for afterwards 😊
Please note, we will offer a reduced price of $70 plus HST per person for a designated driver (no wine)
We are holding this event under the Phase 2 Outdoor Dining protocols, specifically:
